In Genesis 1-3 the author (name unknown) reveals that temptation is everywhere, the story illustrates Eden as paradise on earth, so Genesis 1-3 also confirm that that temptation is everywhere, even in “paradise.”
A passage from the story to support this is “The woman (Eve) saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye and that it was desirable for the knowledge that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it.” (pg 7, line 6) The key word in that sentence is desirable. The serpent, or in this case the embodiment of Satan (the devil), was able to tempt Eve with the things she wanted. Knowledge is a valuable possession and many people need to work hard, study, and learn from past mistakes in order to achieve it. Therefore the lure of the forbidden fruit was overpowering for Eve seeing as the road to true knowledge lay in the bite of an apple/ pomegranate (debatable).
“No! You will not die! God knows in fact that on the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.” (pg 7, line 4) The serpent said this to eve directly before she plucked the forbidden fruit off of the tree of good and evil. This was the quote that tempted eve in to disobeying god’s orders. However, this quote also indicates that Adam and Eve did not have the knowledge of good and evil before the encounter with the snake. So how is it that they can be blamed for a mistake when they had no knowledge of the consequences that would in sue? God had know that Adam and eve were naive when it came to this sort of matter, so why would he put the temptation in the middle of their garden where it is easily accessible, when he already knew that it was impossible for them to differ right from wrong? It seems a bit unfair considering it was the serpent that tempted them in the first place. Granted he received the brunt of the punishment though Adam and Eve cannot be held accountable for their actions since they had not yet required the knowledge.

Comparative Essay;Feed vs. FDA approves computer chip for humans
In both M.T. Anderson’s book Feed, and msnbc.com’s article, “FDA approves computer chip for humans,” the excessive use of technology can bring both positive and negative outcomes to the user.
In Feed, there is a computer chip implanted inside the brain of 73% of the American population. The current population of America is 305,689,000, 73% of that number would be 223,152,970 people. It was never mentioned in Feed what the futuristic population of America was but as you can see from the current census it would be an enormously large number.
These people who are connected with the feed rely on it to answer all of their questions and fix all of their problems. With the feed, people can look up information instantaneously. When Titus, one of the main characters and narrator of the story, talks about when the feed first came out they advertised it as “…an encyclopedia at their fingertips, closer than their fingertips, etc.” (Anderson, 101)
In the beginning it was used as an educational tool and was helpful. Unfortunately for the feed users some of the information put into the feednet was incorrect. “…Like if you want to know which battles of the Civil War George Washington fought in and shit.” (101) Sadly, feed users accepted this misinformation as the truth with a blind faith, completely trusting in what was presented to them. Without other sources to correct their mistakes they are rendered incapable of coming up with a different answer. However don’t worry; it did not take long for civilization to abandon education and the appreciation knowledge altogether. You see once people started using the feeds for recreational purposes they lost all interest in the learning qualities (no matter how faulty) of the feed. Who would really choose to go look up seemingly ‘useless’ information when you could be playing the newest game directly downloaded off of the ever useful feednet? The corporations; Feed Link, OnFeed and American Feedware; (listed on pg. 102) saw this and took advantage of it. They saw a way to promote their products without a penny out of pocket. Broadcasting over the feed was so easy and affective that they started creating ‘customer profiles.’ Titus explains it as “They make a special profile, one that’s keyed just to you, and then they give it to there branch companies, or other companies buy them, and they can get to know what it is we need, so all you have to do is want The corporations in M.T. Anderson’s Feed use the chip as a way to control the population just as the FDA is saying it is perfectly fine for us to have a computer connected to our body today. They (both the corporations and the FDA) say that the positives far out weigh the negatives. In the Feed, the feed can give you information, as stated earlier, but can also make you reliant upon it. Therefore, muting the very reason it was created. The real life chip is said to be able to monitor a person’s health, store data on one’s identity, and can as an all around smart card. Unfortunately, every positive has a negative. There is no reason on earth to implant micro chips into human beings for the purpose of storing medical records codes as is the justification du jur for marketing this invasive product. There are other ways to identify individuals (drivers license, ID, passport, for instance). Moreover, the micro chips presently being hawked as PositiveID are also equipped for multiple uses such as tracking devices or consumer smart cards. Youmust be joking.Right ? People would actually sit still for implantation of devices that could be used to track and ultimately to control their every move as individuals and as consumers?
